Parents:
"My daughter has dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia and attention deficit and several other 'dysis' . . . River City Christian School has transformed my daughter. Not only has it done a good job of re-enforcing the Christian values we try to instill in her at home, she has gained confidence in herself, not only through the academics but the extracurricular activities she has been able to participate in at River City Christian School. Also, the available learning enhancement tools such as Powerline and occupational therapy have helped. The loving and caring environment makes her feel comfortable during class and encourages her to do the best she can in her homework and other academic and extracurricular activities." - C.S.
"Our oldest son was crumbling. He had no confidence, few friends and hated school . . . Frustrated with the public school systems refusal to help our son in any way academically, even though they labeled him borderline mentally retarded . . .. We found River City Christian School . . . He made friends; he could understand what was being taught, he was happy. And, surprise, surprise, we found out he was NOT borderline MR. I hate to think what would have happened to him if we had kept him in public school. After a few months at RCCS all of his behavior problems disappeared at school and at home. He is now a bright, confident, charming young man. He has really grown as a Christian." - E.W.
"It was during this particular conference that I truly felt helpless. As they took turns hammering me with all the problems they were faced with in trying to deal with my nephew and how maybe it would be best if he went to special classes at their school for kids with learning disabilities. In other words they were washing their hands of him. It was then that I realized this situation could not continue. These people simply did not care about helping my nephew and I could feel it in the tone of their voice and the words they used . . . It was then that I knew this school was not the school for him . . .. I can't say enough of how thankful I am to Mrs. Galindo for accepting my nephew into her school and granting him access to wonderful teachers such as herself, Mrs. Brand and Mr. Moore. Both my nephew and I were in dire need of help and they came in our lives as an answer to our prayers. Although my nephew is doing well enough now to attend any school he wishes, it was his desire to return to RCCS this year. To me, that says it all!" - K.B.
"I wanted a Christian school where they would tell her she was God's special creation, and that she wasn't stupid. I wanted so badly for her to know that she could learn . . . From the very moment that she started school Susan Galindo treated my child as if she were her own. She loved her and told her every day that she could do anything. Susan was her teacher that first year, and the entire year was an incredible emotionally healing journey for my daughter. There was even improvement in her reading. She jumped a whole grade level in reading that year! She was tested and we found out that she had dyslexia and Scitopic Sensitivity Syndrome. There were ways to treat these problems that would allow her to catch up and even go much further in her academic journey. But the most significant thing that happened that year was the inside transformation that God made in her life through Susan Galindo and the other teachers and staff at the school. This school truly does Remeadiate, Recreate and Release these children." - C.M.
"By the time my son was in first grade he was already starting his third school since kindergarten. I had been told that my son was behind in his reading, writing and arithmetic and that they did not have the time to devote to his inattentiveness and special needs. My husband and I quickly started searching for a school, something we had become very good at, and the Lord answered our prayers with River City Christian School. When my son arrived at the school, the third week of his 1st grade year, he was academically and emotionally dysfunctional. He would tell me that he wanted to kill himself, that he had no friends and he hated himself. Through the compassion, love and prayers from the staff at RCCS, the numerous counseling sessions with Mrs. Moore, Powerline Program, occupational therapy and a psychological diagnosis and treatment of moderate to severe ADHD and anxiety, my son is now a happy, smart and compassionate boy. He now has tons of friends and his grades improved tremendously - reading increased by 70 percentage points. I can't express in words what this school has done for my son and my family. All I can do is pray God's blessing on the school, teachers and staff. The transformation has been by the grace of God and His tool, RCCS, is truly a blessing." - M.P.
